Botox® Cosmetic is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that works to temporarily relaxes muscles to smooth out lines and wrinkles. This results in a smoother more youthful appearance. These lines and wrinkles will continue to improve with subsequent treatments and essentially disappear.
The most common areas injected are:
- Crow’s feet at Eyes
- Eyebrow Lift
- The glabellar area of frown lines, located between the eyes,
- Forehead Wrinkles
- Bunny Lines (on the nose)
- Upper Lip Lines around the mouth, especially when you “pucker” your face
- Marionette Lines

- The Neck bands (platysma bands) that occur with age
Botox® treatment can also be used to provide a lip flip to achieve a fuller upper lip without dermal filler. This temporary cosmetic injection can also reduce migraine headaches, TMJ symptoms, and perspiration of the hands and underarms.
How Long Does Botox® Last?
The length of time between treatments does vary by individual. However, Botox® lasts an average of 3 to 4 months. With repeated treatments, the results may last longer.
Botox® injections typically start to take effect within 2-7 days after your treatment. This time varies from patient to patient and can even from treatment to treatment. Complete results will continue to become apparent for up to 3 weeks after your Botox® treatment.
IS BOTOX® SAFE?
Botox® Cosmetic was the first FDA approved treatment for moderate to severe frown lines and the only one FDA approved for forehead lines and crow’s feet. Botox® also received the first FDA approval for therapeutic use in 1989.
